ECSD celebrates years of service, retirements

ELLSWORTH – Ellsworth Community School District held its annual employee recognition dinner at Ridgetop Tuesday, May 30. This year, the district will say goodbye to seven employees, off to retirement adventures.

Those retiring include Ellsworth High School social studies teacher Ryan Casper (26 years), EHS special education teaching assistant Kim Huggett (30 years), EHS special education teaching assistant Beth Kidd (five years), accounts payable/bookkeeper Ava Maxwell (27 years), Ellsworth Elementary School art teacher Shelly Nelson (33 years), Ellsworth Middle School counselor Kim Nyquist (eight years), EMS special education teaching assistant Susie Pollack (15 years), EES teaching assistant and PKC Director Laura Swancutt (eight years) and EES teaching assistant Lori Thoms (26 years).

Staff members were also honored for years of service:

40 years – Kenneth “Butch” Kinneman (bus driver)

30 years – Gale Harris (occupational therapist teaching assistant), Kim Huggett (special education teaching assistant), Karen Kornmann (choir director), Nancy O’Neill (fourth grade teacher)

25 years – Mary Hanson (special education teaching assistant), Loni Johnson (library teaching assistant)

20 years – Michelle Selzler (sixth grade science teacher)

15 years – Vicki Boyd (teaching assistant), Melinda Casper, Kelly Gezel (teaching assistant), Lisa Plummer (bus driver), Susie Pollack (EMS special education teaching assistant), Danielle Richardson (4YK teacher) and Julie Winegar (technology education teacher and Fab Lab coordinator).
