ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department July 18-24.

Monday, July 18 Elias French, 23, Red Wing, Minn., was cited for failure to wear a seat belt and warned for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle after a traffic stop at 3:11 p.m. at Chestnut and Spruce streets. A caller had reported French for swerving sharply in his traffic lane, similar to how NASCAR drivers warm their tires up for a race. French denied the driving behavior.

Sophia Tharalson, 19, Ellsworth, was cited for failure to obey traffic lights after a traffic stop at 6:41 p.m. at Main and Oak streets.

A woman at 8:52 p.m. said she lost her blanket at 229 W. Main St. and needed to find a new one. She was given a blanket and a ride to Summit Park where she was told she could stay the night, as long as she moved on in the morning.

Tuesday, July 19

A homeless woman called police at 2:57 a.m. from Summit Park asking for a ride to Hoffman Park in River Falls. She was advised that police aren’t a taxi service and to find her own ride.

A homeless person requested assistance at 9:26 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Office (555 W. Overlook Drive). The person was transported to Grace Place in New Richmond.

Jovan Dennison, 18, St. Louis Park, Minn., was cited after a traffic stop at 2:57 p.m. at 670th Street and 580th Avenue for failure to provide proof of insurance. He was given until Friday to do so. He was also warned for speeding and operate without valid license. The passenger took over driving duties.

Officers attempted a welfare check at 7:27 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Kruger Lane where an intoxicate man allegedly punched a toolbox and made selfharm comments. He was not

located.

Wednesday, July 20

A complainant reported broken bottles scattered in the parking lot at 6:06 a.m. at 707 N. Maple St. Extra patrol was requested.

Robert Myhre, 53, Ellsworth, was cited at 3:25 p.m. for dog-at-large. His yellow lab was found running loose in the 600 block of Old West Main Street. The dog had also been found running loose at 10:49 a.m. in the 600 block of West Kinne Street, when police brought it home.

Jonathan Gualan Lozano, 29, Ellsworth, was cited for operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 4:05 p.m. at County Road C and East Main Street.

Thursday, July 21

Police were called to a domestic at 11:48 a.m. in the back parking lot of the courthouse (414 W. Main St.) Ronald Wild, 57, Beldenville, was arrested for a probation violation. He was intoxicated and registered a .17 BAC, violating his bond conditions. It’s unknown what initially caused the disturbance.

Victor Torres-Ramirez,

51, Maiden Rock, was cited for operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 8:08 p.m. at Railroad Avenue and Wall Street.

Officers responded to a domestic at 10:09 p.m. at 511 Vincent Lane. A couple was arguing about one of the man’s friends and the woman wanted him to leave, but police said she’d have to begin the eviction process. Both were intoxicated and advised to separate for the night.

Friday, July 22

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9:12 a.m. in the Nilssen’s parking lot (157 E. Main St.) between Cassandra Oricchio, 44, Ellsworth, and Marsha Young, 71, Ellsworth. Oricchio was heading north in the lot after leaving the Caribou Coffee drive-thru. Young was leaving a parking spot and didn’t see Oricchio, striking her vehicle in the front driver’s side corner with the front passenger corner of her vehicle.

A complainant reported juveniles looking through a burned-out house at 8:56 p.m. at 166 E. Main St. When police arrived, no one was there.

A caller reported juveniles playing in the street at 9:32 p.m. at Maple and Cairns streets. No one was found.

A resident at 733 E. Campbell St. reported finding a fraudulent mortgage letter taped to her door, marked with the word “Confidential,” at 9:34 p.m. The letter provided a number for her to call. She informed police in case it happens to someone else.

Saturday, July 23

Police received a noise complaint at 12:08 a.m. about the Pierce County Fairgrounds Motocross event. The clean-up crew said they had about another hour or so of cleaning to do.

A male gray and white kitten was found at 10:54 a.m. at 322 W. Overlook Drive. It had been hanging around for four days and belonged to no neighbors. Police took it to the River Bluffs Humane Society.

Sunday, July 24

At 9:33 a.m., a yellow Lab belonging to Robert Myhre,

53, Ellsworth, was found in the 100 block of West Kinne Street. Police brought the dog back to its residence, but no one answered the door, so the dog was secured on a cable located on the front porch. Myhre will be cited for dog-at-large by mail.

Officers checked out the motion sensor lights at 9:19 p.m. at 579 Vincent Lane. The buildings and storage units were all secure.

Police stood by to keep the peace as a man retrieved his belongings at 9:32 p.m. at 112 Evergreen Estates St.
