Freedom Park column: Music in the Park

Our community has enjoyed one musical treat this summer already with the launch of the "Music in the Park" series, a delightful event designed to bring neighbors together for evenings filled with live performances and fun. Held at our Freedom Park, this series promises to be a highlight of the summer, offering a perfect blend of entertainment and relaxation for families, friends, and music lovers of all ages.

Every fourth Thursday of the Month June to September "Music in the Park" will transform Freedom Park into an open-air concert venue, showcasing an array of talented local musicians. The event runs from 6:30-8 p.m. with food and beverages for sale starting at 6 p.m., giving attendees the perfect opportunity to enjoy dinner and drinks, lounge on blankets, and immerse themselves in the melodies under the setting sun.

The series boasts a diverse lineup of performers, ensuring there is something for everyone. From classical ensembles to rock groups and German music, each evening will feature a different genre to cater to varied musical tastes. Local favorites and emerging artists alike will grace the stage, bringing their unique sounds and vibrant energy to our park.

"Music in the Park" is more than just a concert series; it’s a community celebration. A local food truck will be on-site offering a variety of delicious treats, and a bar selling non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages is a fundraiser for the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center. Additionally, local community groups will have booths set up, providing information and engaging activities or food to enhance the overall experience.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsor, the Prescott Tourism Committee, "Music in the Park" is free to attend. This accessibility ensures that everyone in our community has the chance to enjoy live music in a beautiful outdoor setting. We encourage attendees to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and some bug spray to join in the fun.

"Music in the Park" is the perfect way to unwind after a busy week, reconnect with neighbors, and support local talent. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the area, this series offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the vibrant spirit of our community.

Mark your calendars and spread the word! Bring your friends, family, and a hearty appetite for great music and good times. We look forward to seeing you at Freedom Park every fourth Thursday of the month. Let’s make this summer one to remember with "Music in the Park!"
