Last week at Prescott Middle School, students and staff engaged in several activities that related to this year's One School, One Book selection A Week in the Woods. The plot focuses on a new, wealthy fifth grade student and his science teacher who coordinates the annual week that the entire grade spends camping and learning to survive in the outdoors.
Activities at the three stations included learning to tie knots and strength, designing camper medallions and bunk symbols, and replicating a science experiment found in the plot.
The OSOB program will culminate with a trip to the Kinnickinnic State Park upon completion of the novel. Thank you to Afton Apple Orchard who provided a donation to make the program possible this year.
