State National History Day in Madison

PRESCOTT – The state contest for National History Day, which is sponsored by the Wisconsin Historical Society, was held April 22 in Madison. Nine students from Prescott High School and Prescott Middle School attended the contest. Students qualified for this honor by placing in the top three at the regional contest in Eau Claire on Feb. 14. 

Six students qualified at state to attend the National NHD Contest which will be held in Washington DC this June. Ayla Peterson and Alexa Droher placed in the top two at state with their performance on the Seneca Falls Women's Convention. Kinsey Peterson, Marcus Mitchell, Eliott Cook and Andaria Henderson qualified with their performance about the Trial of Oscar Wilde, and Cara Fielder and Bailey Spencer placed in the top four at state and are alternates for the National NHD Contest with their exhibit about Emma Goldman. Makaria Haas competed in the highly competitive category of Written Paper with her composition about Nikola Tesla. Congratulations to all!
