10 questions for an officer: School Resource Officer Chris Gottfredsen

Posted

The Pierce County Journal appreciates the men and women who risk their lives every day to protect and serve our communities. We also want to help you get to know the men and women behind the badge in all Pierce County law enforcement agencies. Each week we will feature an officer and ask them a fun set of questions. When you see them on the street, make sure to say hi!

Meet School Resource Officer Chris Gottfredsen of the River Falls Police Department.

  1. How long have you worked for RFPD? I have worked for River Falls for over 26 years. Prior to that, I worked with the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office for about one year.
  2. What is your position and duties? My position is a school resource officer. My duties include keeping the schools, students and staff safe and preventing disturbances for a safe learning environment. I build relationships in order to better serve the students in a proactive manner.
  1. Why did you become a police officer? I thought law enforcement was in line with my strengths. I did not grow up wanting to be a police officer.
  2. What is your favorite TV show/series? Why? Seinfeld. Best show ever about nothing. So man relatable situations!
  3. What is your favorite food? Indian
  4. If you could travel anywhere you wanted, where would you go and why? Hawaii so my wife stops indicating how much she wants to go there.
