2024 Prescott Community Club fishing contest is success!

PRESCOTT – Fun was had by all at the 27th annual Prescott Community Club's Kids Free Fishing Contest on Saturday, June 1. The young anglers and their friends came early for the best fishing spots. The rain held off long enough to get the 82 participants registered and fishing. It was great seeing the kids bringing their fish to be weighed with lots of smiles. Plop, plop, plop went the bobbers in the water from 9-11 a.m.

The Boy Scouts sold hot dogs and refreshments. Thank you, Boy Scouts, for your participation the past 27 years! Our weigh-in team of Jason Brazzale and Matt Frey kept busy with over 50 total fish caught and weighed. Brazzale and his high school fishing team held a fishing clinic. Everyone was given a fishing shirt.

The winners were as follows:

  • Ages 4 and under, first place, Bradley Stelter with a 1.72-pound Small Mouth Bass and second place Caiden Stelter with a 0.83-pound Small Mouth Bass
  • 5-8 year olds, first place Vivian Johnson with a 4.35-pound Redhorse and second place Robert Gregor Jr. with a 2.66-pound Sheep Head
  • 9-12 year olds, first place Nolan Green with a 2.6-pound Small Mouth Bass and second place Tanner Lansing with a 2.3-pound Sheep Head
  • 13 and older, first place Grant Riebe with a 2.31-pound Small Mouth Bass and second place Wyatt Ramsey with a 2.16-pound Small Mouth Bass.

Prizes were handed out to each young fisher person. The popular adult drawing for families and friends also took place. All first-place participants were given a new rod/reel combo and second place a tackle box.

We would like to thank the incredible support we received form our sponsors. This support came in the form of financial donations and prizes for the adult drawing. Please note the sponsors on the picture and thank them when you stop in to support their businesses.

Prescott Community Club, Inc. was created to replace Kiwanis Club of Prescott. While the name changed, our mission has not. Our club's primary focus revolves around the youth of Prescott. Thank you to all young anglers, families, and friends for making this contest so successful over the years! We will see you next year on the first Saturday of June. Make it a great day and have a fun and safe summer! Keep fishing!
