The School District of River Falls announced the hiring of Timothy Beres to serve as the next head coach of the Wildcat hockey program.

Beres grew up in Waukesha where he played youth and high school hockey and was a four-year varsity letter-winner for Catholic Memorial High School. Following high school, he went on to play two years of Junior A Hockey for the Chicago Freeze of the NAHL. After Junior, he attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he played three years for the Falcons, participating in the NCAA Frozen Four his sophomore year.

Beres has 14 years of coaching experience, seven of which are at the high school level and seven years at the youth level. As a member of various high school programs, he has been a part of two state tournament coaching staffs and was on staff for two-year Minnesota State Hockey Tournament participant Woodbury High School.

“It’s an honor for me to be the head varsity hockey coach at River Falls,” said Beres. “I am excited about the opportunity to coach in River Falls, which has been known as a city of growth and achievement. I am already working on planning and preparing every day to ensure I can put my best foot forward. I have a passion and love for the game and can’t wait to get started on this new journey with the River Falls High School program.”

Beres has been married for 18 years and has two children, ages 16 and 14.
