Budworth made it evident that the first competition of the season is shortly after practice begins and that it will be a quick turnaround for the entire program. According to Budworth, the first game of the season is scheduled less than a week after practice be – gins. She spoke about that timeline, getting new equipment and help from the previous administration.

“I think we have 5 days of practice before our first match so I am already working on replacing some equipment that needs to be replaced; volleyball nets, that kind of thing,” Budworth said. Former JV coach Joan Korfhage has been instrumental in getting ready for the upcoming season. “Joan worked really diligently to get a really nice deal for us to

get an airCAT. So, we are going to be incorporating that into a lot of the summer things and indoor practices.” Budworth is excited to be the next head coach of the program for a lot of reasons, especially in a district where she has lived for 29 years and has worked in the school for approximately 15 of those years. Budworth concluded her comments by speaking about her love of the game and how excited she is to work with this group of girls.

“I love the game of volleyball and know enough to be successful,” Budworth said. “We have a lot of talent and I am very much looking forward to finding ways to utilize that talent to its potential. We have some very, very strong athletes.” Budworth adds how a couple of volleyball players on her team play year round. With dedication like that Bud worth believes her and her team, “are going to have a stellar year.”
