Quinn Motors of Ellsworth to celebrate 105th anniversary with first-of-its-kind community concert

ELLSWORTH – Quinn Motors of Ellsworth is celebrating its 105th anniversary on Main Street in Ellsworth on July 17, 2024. The car dealership that Matthew Quinn opened with Alfred Larson in 1919 still remains in the same Ellsworth location, with the same family focused on the same commitment to outstanding customer service.

“What could we do to thank the Ellsworth, Pierce County and broader Wisconsin and Minnesota communities for a century plus of loyalty and friendship?” was the question Meghan Quinn Kummer, Quinn Motors’ Dealer Principal asked her team over eight months ago while brainstorming ideas for the forthcoming 105th anniversary.

Quinn Kummer, along with husband Charlie Kummer, President of Quinn Motors, thought a novel idea would be to hold a first-of-its-kind community concert on the grounds of the dealership and simultaneously help raise greater awareness and support for the Ellsworth High School Music, Arts and Theater programs.

The Community Concert idea took and now Quinn Motors is in the final stages of producing and hosting a free-to-attend, no RSVP necessary concert at Quinn Motors featuring returning Ellsworth High School students who have been able to carve out their own successful music careers. The concert will open with Brooke Elizabeth, a graduate of EHS and a successful singer-songwriter.

“I’m from Ellsworth but haven’t had many opportunities to play back home! I’m so excited to celebrate 105 years of Quinn Motors with live music, food and community,” Elizabeth said.

Ellsworth High School Choir Director Karen Kornmann shared her Community Concert excitement.

“The EHS Music Department is thrilled to be collaborating with Quinn Motors of Ellsworth for their Community Concert on July17,” Kornmann said. “The headliners just happen to be two incredibly talented EHS music alumni, Brooke Elizabeth and Trapper Schoepp! The Ellsworth Music Department has a reputation for having amazing music students, top-level music concerts, musical and theatrical performances. No matter where we go to perform or compete, there is always someone who mentions a past talented Ellsworth HS music student. This all happens because of the amazing continual support from the Ellsworth community. You are the parents and the people in the audience. You are the people who invite us to sing or play at local events, meetings, and businesses. I am proud and honored to be able to teach, coach and work with your music students. Thank you so much for your support and please come down to Quinn Motors on July 17 to see Ellsworth High School Music Students from the past and the present.”

“On behalf of Quinn Motors of Ellsworth, we welcome the broader Ellsworth, Pierce County, Wisconsin and Minnesota communities to the grounds of our dealership to enjoy community fellowship and to celebrate and recognize the outstanding Music, Arts and Theater programs being fostered at Ellsworth Community School District. From our (third generation) family to you and yours, THANK YOU for your loyalty and friendship these last 105 years,” Quinn Kummer shared via social media.

In addition, headline act Trapper Schoepp will be on hand to share his talented singer-songwriting skills. Schoepp, an EHS alumni, and his band currently reside in Milwaukee and continue to tour both European and American venues.

“Some say you can never go home again…Well, on July 17 I’m doing just that. Back to Main Street singing the songs on the streets that formed me. See ya at Quinn Motors…” shared Schoepp.

Besides selling cars and trucks, Quinn Motors of Ellsworth is proud of their long-standing reputation for charitable contributions and community sponsorship in the Ellsworth and Pierce County area.
