A River Falls couple arrested in April in connection with a string of burglaries has added more burglary-related charges to their rapsheet.

Dylan James Nestor, 32, Askov, Minn., posted a $10,000 signature bond in Pierce County Circuit Court May 7 on felony burglary of building or dwelling, felony operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and felony theft – movable property (>$5,000 to $10,000). The maximum penalty if convicted is 12.5 in prison and/or fines up to $25,000.

Kearie Dawn Schwisow, 28, River Falls, posted a $5,000 signature bond April 18 in Pierce County Circuit Court on felony bail jumping and receiving or concealing stolen property charges. Both parties were ordered to have no contact with each other.

According to the complaints:

At 4:40 p.m. April 15, officers responded to the Hove Auto Body location at 105 S. Fremont St. for a burglary. The business owner said his shop had been broken into and items were missing since he had last been at the shop April 12. Only high-end tools were missing from the locked building. He had found a Plexiglass window on the building’s west side had been removed, though the window latch hadn’t been touched.

A large number of tools was missing, along with several sets of vehicle keys. Police determined the suspect(s) came in through the Plexiglass window and left through the east garage entrance door, which was unlocked from the inside and slightly ajar.

A tenant who lives on the property said she saw a black Dodge Ram with a black topper parked in the lot Sunday night. She didn’t recognize the vehicle and hadn’t seen it before. At 6 p.m. that night, she saw what she thought were two men in hoodies wearing baseball caps leaving; however, they weren’t carrying anything. She said she yelled at them and they told her they were just looking around.

The two people were seen walking in the area again the next day.

Items stolen included several Milwaukee brand tools, batteries and chargers, and more totaling more than $8,000. Keys were stolen for a 2012 silver Dodge Avenger, a 2008 silver Chevy Impala, a 1987 white Chevy V10, a 2017 black Dodge Ram 1500 (this customer’s vehicle was also stolen), along with three O’Reilly gift cards, a toy gun, sweatshirt and other miscellaneous items.

Investigators learned April 16 that Schwisow had sold a matching Matco Auto Diagnostic tool matching the victim’s serial number at a Minneapolis pawn shop. At the time she sold items, she was with Nestor, confirmed by video surveillance.

Later that day, Hudson police pulled Nestor over in a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 and he fled from them. Police apprehended him, arrested him and transported him to St. Croix County Jail. On April 17, he was ordered to pay $3,000 cash bond in St. Croix County Circuit Court on felony take and drive vehicle without consent, receiving or concealing stolen property, resisting or obstructing an officer, misdemeanor bail jumping and two felony bail jumping charges, all with the repeater modifier.

The Ram Nestor was driving had stolen Iowa plates on it and contained tools belonging to Hove Auto Body in the back. The Ram was registered to a River Falls resident, who said the truck should be parked at Hove Auto Body. He said he’d dropped the truck off Sunday afternoon and dropped the key fob in a key drop.

Officers tracked Schwisow down at her job in the 700 block of Sycamore Street after 8 p.m. that same night, where she was arrested and transported to Pierce County Jail. After being released on the $5,000 signature bond, she found herself in hot water again when she violated the no contact order between her and Nestor.

Nestor called his mother’s phone from St. Croix County Jail at 7:54 p.m. May 3 and a woman calling herself “Aunt Amy” answered the phone. Police identified “Aunt Amy” as Schwisow. The woman was also referenced as Aunt Bonnie who had her kids taken away. Nestor made a statement saying that if Schwisow “rolled on him,” she’d incriminate herself and get in more trouble.

Schwisow talked to Nestor again at 8:16 p.m. May 3 and said she’d checked in with his mother. Schwisow’s two Pierce County signature bonds, A $10,000 bond dated March 18 and the April 18 $5,000 signature bond prohibit her from having any contact with Nestor. She posted a $25,000 signature bond May 8 in Pierce County Circuit Court on two felony bail jumping charges. If convicted, she faces up to six years in prison and/or fines up to $10,000.

Schwisow’s next scheduled Pierce County court appearance is a 10:30 a.m. status conference June 18. Nestor is slated for a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. June 11 in Pierce County and a status conference at 9:30 a.m. May 23 in St. Croix.

Both parties are facing felony charges in Pierce County Circuit Court related to a string of burglaries around River Falls, resulting in more than $30,000 in property stolen.
