The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department June 2 through July 3.

Thursday, June 2

A teacher at River Falls High School reported that she felt harassed by the actions of a student. The 15-year-old student, who was not a student of the teacher’s, would show up in the teacher’s classroom after being warned not to. The incident was reported to the school resource officer. School staff agreed to meet with the student about his behavior.

Sunday, June 19

A driver reported hitting and killing a deer on Hwy. 35 at 10:57 p.m. Logan Scot Kerfeld, 26, of Roberts, was northbound on Hwy. 35 when his SUV struck the animal. The vehicle sustained front-end damage but was drivable.

A woman who lives in the 1800 block of Kimberly Circle reported that Pride Month signs were stolen from the yard of her residence. The incident occurred between 7 p.m. June 19 and 9 p.m. June 20. Two yard signs were taken, and she believes neighborhood teens may have taken them. Last year, a similar incident occurred, and she found the stolen signs in a nearby pond.

Monday, June 20

Police were called about a juvenile runaway case. The 16-year-old River Falls girl reportedly was not returning home when she was supposed to and is involved in drug and alcohol use with a 16-year-old boy from Ellsworth. Future incidents with the girl are going to be referred to Pierce County Child Protective Services. Police were called June 20 10 10:47 p.m., because the girls’ mother feared she had been doing cocaine.

Tuesday, June 21

A two-vehicle accident was reported on Cemetery Road at the roundabout near the intersection with 945th Street at 8:03 a.m. A utility pickup truck driven by Nathan Robert Rada,

44, New Richmond had slowed and stopped in the roundabout near the 945 Street exit because a road crew was cutting concrete and clearing from traffic. His vehicle was struck from behind by a minivan driven by Diana Lynn Sura, 62, River Falls. Rada told police that the construction zone was poorly marked.

Police were dispatched to a business at 302 S. Main St. at 7:33 p.m., where they met with a couple who were in possession of a fake $100 bill. Both the 23-year-old man from Mondovi and his girlfriend, an 18-year-old from River Falls told an officer separately that the man had sold a truck for $2,800 and was paid. Some of that money was then used to purchase truck parts, and the remainder was deposited in a bank. They were attempting to use the last $100 bill, which had “Play Money” printed on the front and back side. The bill was confiscated. The incident is still under investigation.

Wednesday, June 22

A 51-year-old River Falls man with no reported residence, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, possession of THC and misdemeanor bail jumping after a disturbance reported at 10:11 a.m. at Main Street and Locust Street. Bryan Killibrew was reportedly yelling at customers of a business in the area. When an officer arrived, Killibrew reportedly fled southbound on Main Street on his bicycle. He was taken into custody in the 300 block of South Main Street and transported to the Pierce County Jail.

Thursday, June 23

Two officers on patrol were traveling on N. Fourth Street when graffiti was noticed on a parking sign on the east side of the street at 310 N. Fourth St. The sign had a yellow “W” spray painted on it.

Friday, June 24

An officer took Lanai Michele Bowdry, 35, St. Paul, MN, into custody on a Failure to Appear in court warrant at Kwik Trip, 1536 Cemetery Rd., The woman was booked and paid the $250 bond. She was issued a Notice to Appear in court, but she refused to accept that or her payment receipt. She told the officer she is never coming back to Wisconsin again.

Michael Maza, 18, 306 W. John St., River Falls, was cited for operating without a valid license after a two-vehicle accident at St. Johnson and State Street at 7:08 a.m. Maza was attempting to back his vehicle into a parking spot on W. Johnson Street. As he pulled back into the lane of traffic, his vehicle struck a pickup truck driven by Cory David Magsam, 28, 468 W. Johnson St.

A car driven by Gwendolyn J. Conklin, N7761 State Road 65, River Falls, reportedly back out of a parking spot at 111 E. Walnut St., and struck a vehicle driven by Kathryn Jane Meier, 69, 954 Lucille Ct., River Falls. The accident was reported at 9:27 a.m.

Charges of disorderly conduct are being referred to the Pierce County District Attorney’s office stemming from an incident reported at 10:38 a.m. at Emma’s Bar, 222 S. Main St. A man said a former high school friend, Bruce Robert James, 65, N7111 820th St., River Falls, allegedly came into the bar, gave a group of people drinking coffee there the middle finger and upon leaving Emma’s yelled, “Time to kill some Republicans.” James man admitted guilt to what he had done and told an officer he was just upset with what’ s going on in the world, and he has no intention of hurting anyone. A “No Trespass Notice” was issued against James from entering Emmas’s Bar until June 25, 2023.

Jacob Edward King, 403 Wasson St., was apprehended by police on a Failure to Appear warrant from St. Croix County at 9:13 p.m.

Saturday, June 25 Lucy Janell Norvold, 20, Hudson, was cited for being for being in Glen Park after hours at 12:09 a.m. An officer patrolling Glen Park observed three vehicles in the park. One couple said they had met up to talk, and they left the park after being notified of the park hours. Two younger men were seen walking near the pool, and they kept looking back at the officer and walking away. When approached by the officer, they said they were just checking out the park and were unaware of the hours. They left the park after being cleared through dispatch. As the officer walked around the pool, he discovered Norvold hiding inside the locked fence for the pool area, which is marked “No Trespassing.” She had an alcoholic beverage in her possession. She told police she was at the park to meet up with a man she met on an online dating app who said he had a pool. She was issued a citation for being in the park, and she and the two men who were earlier cleared from the scene were issued no trespass notices, barring them from being in the park for one year.

Graffiti was witnessed to an officer on patrol on the White Pathway at the dock/ overlook for Lake George. The officer noticed graffiti on the wood that appeared to have been recently painted. There was also carving in the wood.

Two men were cited for urinating on a telephone pole behind Emma’s Bar, 222 S. Main St. at 2:45 a.m. An officer was on patrol in the area because of excessive pedestrian activity at that time of night. He witnessed Jackson Edward Bjork, 26, 726 S. Wasson Lane, and

Miles Even Lacek, 31, 409 Seventh St., urinating on the pole in the alley behind the bar. Both apologized for their actions and said they should have just used the restroom inside the bar.

Sunday, June 26 Kaleb Joshua Sneen, 24, of Hastings, MN, was cited for failing to keep a vehicle under control, hit and run and failing to report an accident after a truck he was driving struck a speed limit sign an a River Falls Electric utility box on Quarry Road. Police were called to the scene at 9:18 a.m., and the truck, registered to a Lakeview, MN woman, was resting against the utility box. Police had a utility worker divert power from the box. The driver was not at the scene. Police called the vehicle owner, who said the driver of the truck would contact police. Sneen called and said that a vehicle was driving over the centerline at him, and he went into the ditch to avoid a head-on collision. He told police he didn’t contact them, because he didn’t know what to do because he didn’t own the truck, so he instead called the truck owner.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of E. Maple Street for a past burglary and damage done to a vehicle. The 31-year-old man told police that he had gone out for a run June 25 and noticed his $80 black Nike Air shoes missing. He also wanted to report to police an accident that had occurred that day. He said his vehicle and another had collided in a parking lot near his residence. The two drivers agreed that a report didn’t need to be filed. However, in thinking it over, the man decided that it should be reported. Police were unable to find the other vehicle involved in the accident.

A woman called police at 6:48 p.m. with a report that someone had tried to break into her garage in the 400 block of N. Wasson Lane. The woman had heard a noise days earlier outside her home and thought it was an animal. She then saw pry marks near the door to the garage.

Tuesday, June 28

Police were called to Dick’s Fresh Market, 1121 S. Main St. for the theft of the bike rack located at the business. A video shows a U-Haul truck being removed from the property at 10:17 p.m. on June 4. A passenger in the truck reportedly loaded the bike rack into the truck, and the truck exited to the south. The bike rack was 30 years old and valued at $450.

Mitchell Thomas Stanton, 21, Lake Elmo, MN, was cited for exhibition of power after the vehicle he was driving reportedly left the Kwik Trip station on S. Main Street at a high rate of speed and squealing its tires.

Thursday, June 30

A 66-year old resident in the 300 block of Cemetery Road reported the theft of mail from her mailbox to police. She said she had paid a number of bills two weeks prior and put them in the mailbox for pickup. None of the checks had cleared her bank. She said she contacted the River Falls Post Office and was told they had received other complaints of mail theft recently.

Saturday, July 2

An officer on patrol at 9:57 a.m. noticed graffiti on an electrical box near Bartosh Lane and Foster Street. The box had the letters “BFEZ” painted on it and also “ZQ” in smaller letters. Shortly after, a light pole was discovered in the 300 block of S. Main Street with “BZ” also in red paint on it.

A purse was reported stolen from a business in the 100 block of E. Elm Street between 1 and 2 p.m. A couple from Menomonie was at the business, and the woman left her purse on a bar. It was discovered missing. The man drove back to Menomonie to track the cell phone that was in the purse. It was discovered in the grass in an alley behind Walnut Street. The woman then received a Facebook message that her credit cards were found near a garbage can in Hoffman Park. A credit card, driver’s license, two sets of keys and approximately $200-$300 was missing from the purse.

New graffiti was noticed sprayed on the side of the bridge on W. Division Street by an officer at 8:23 p.m. The graffiti was painted on the side of the bridge and under it, and there were drawings and profanities sprayed.

Sunday, July 3

Two people were cited for being in Glen Park after hours and reportedly using the pool. A man and woman were seen toweling off near the pool. When approached by officers, the man stayed where he was, and the woman tried to flee but was still in the fenced area. Backup arrived, and she came out of hiding. The two then “hopped” the fence to talk to officers. Cited were Hailey Makenzie Lundquist, 27, St. Paul, MN, and Zachary Davis Moore, 22, 222 Lewis St., River Falls.

Adam R. Boyette, 22, 131 W. Cascade Ave., River Falls, was cited for retail theft after reportedly walking into Family Fresh Market, 303 S. Main St., and taking a box of wine. Boyette reportedly walked directly to the alcohol section, took the box of wine and walked out of the main entrance without attempting to pay for it.
