The community is invited to the following events and programs from the Ellsworth Public Library. Summer is sure to be fun as new programming kicks off.

June Reading Challenge: Forest Adventures - Celebrating Smokey Bear's 80th Birthday. Reading and activity logs can be picked up at the library.

On display through July 31: Come experience Seasons, watercolors spanning the career of former Ellsworth High School art instructor Gordon Halverson.

In the local history vault: 100 Years of the Ellsworth Public Library: A History 1924-2024

In the Makerspace: Explore nature, create crafts to help you explore the natural world, explore leaves and trees and start planning for Adventures that Begin at Your Library this summer

Stop in and ask us about the MORE Passport Program where you explore area libraries and are awarded for seeing what our area libraries have to offer. You'll also want to find out about the State Park Pass check out program, as well.

Wednesdays, June 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 10 a.m. - Stitchin' Time Crafters (Library Meeting Room)

June 10 at 10:30 a.m. - Tech Time (Study Room)

June 11 at 11 a.m. - Discover Together Tuesday: Join us as Doug and Hannah Sjostrom from Honey Hill Apiary in Maiden Rock share the story of their beekeeping journey and give us a primer on bees and beekeeping. They will also bring some of their local honey and beeswax products. A luncheon sponsored by the Ellsworth Senior Center and Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library will follow the program.

June 20 at about 2:30 p.m. - Poolside Storytime at Klaas-Jonas Pool during afternoon swim break

June 21 at 10:30 a.m. - Family Storytime at Cairns Woods: Forest Adventures, come meet therapy dog Maggie!

June 24: Adventure Begins at Your Library – Summer Library Program begins

June 25 at 5:15 p.m. Library Board Meeting (Meeting Room)

June 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. - Artist Reception with Gordon Halverson: Join us to celebrate Gordon Halverson, former Ellsworth High School art teacher, and his Seasons art retrospective on display at the library.

June 26 from 1-3 p.m. - Summer Library Program Kick-off Pool Party: pick up free passes at the library starting June 19

June 27 at about 2:30 p.m. - Poolside Storytime at Klaas-Jonas Pool during afternoon swim break

June 27 from 5-7 p.m. - Together Thursday part of the Summer Fun Series. Come enjoy the rhythm and blues of the Evertt Smithson Band from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and then join us for a free 30-minute Harmonica Workshop with Everett after the show where you can learn how to play the harmonica! Sponsored by the Minnesota Blues Society, attendees receive a free harmonica along with songs, diagrams and literature to keep you learning and playing into the summer. The library wishes to thank CCF Bank for co-sponsoring this event.

June 29 at 10 a.m. - Summer STEM: Fast Cars (ages 6+) at East End Park - registration recommended
