Emily Stolp 1971-2022

Emily Kay Stolp, age 51 of Woodbury, Minn. was born July 28, 1971, in River Falls, Wis. She passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 2, surrounded by family after a battle with glioblastoma. She faced her illness with bravery, humor, and grace. Emily graduated from River Falls High School in 1989 and attended the University of Tulsa on a full National Merit Scholarship. Emily worked as an editor and as chief compliance officer, her last position held at Blue Rose Capital Advisors.

Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Morrel Wallace and Gertrude Newman, paternal grandparents Charles and Agnes Stolp, infant sister Amanda, uncles, cousins, and an aunt. Emily is survived by her two daughters Maia and Nina, parents Robert and Lois Stolp, siblings Chris Stolp, AnneMarie Mirza, and Susie Stolp Carter, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Emily was a lifelong voracious reader and enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts. She also enjoyed traveling, a good recipe, plays, festivals, collecting fossils, minerals, books, and perfumes; hobbies she shared with her girls.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls, Wis. at noon on Saturday, Jan. 14. Visitation will be at 11 a.m.. Lunch will follow the service.
