The River Falls American Legion will be hosting a parking lot Halloween “Trunk or Treat” from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Post (701 N. Main St.) The event is open to the surrounding community.

“Along with the Legion Auxiliary, we are looking forward to providing this ‘one stop candy shop’ option as a safe and fun Halloween experience for area families,” said Larry Larson, Post 121 Commander.

Free breakfast for veterans and families

The River Falls American Legion also invites all veterans, their families and the community to a special “Veterans Breakfast” on Sunday, Nov. 5 at the Post (701 N. Main St.)

Veterans and their families will eat free; an opportunity for a free will offering will be available to others. Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to noon, and include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, orange juice, milk and coffee.

Pierce and St. Croix County Veteran Service Officers will be on-site to answer questions, along with Legion, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion members.  

“It’s a great way to kick off a special week of recognizing all veterans,” said Larson.

Veterans Day is Nov. 11, the following Saturday.

Legion Blood Drive Nov. 9-10

Post 121 will be hosting its Fall 2023 Red Cross Blood Drive from 12:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 10, 8:30 a.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling Judy at 715-760-1144 or on-line at RedCrossBlood.org and entering riverfallswi. Walk-ins will be taken on an as-available basis.

The Post hosts three community blood drives annually.
