Poppy Days – Remember with gratitude

Posted

ELLSWORTH – On Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23, the members of the Kinne-Englehart American Legion Auxiliary will be stationed around Ellsworth offering poppies, encouraging you to wear a poppy in remembrance of those who have served our country in the armed forces.

The American Legion family adopted the poppy as its official flower over 100 years ago. Since that time veterans have made millions of the paper replicas, a symbol of remembrance of those who have died defending our country. The proceeds from your donations are used to support the future of veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families with medical and financial needs.

Each year the Ellsworth community, businesses and individuals, has given generously to this campaign. For that, we thank you all! We can be found at Nilssen’s, Cenex and Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery.

Next week, remember to bring a little cash if you are out and about, wear a poppy, and thank you in advance if you choose to donate.
