Rock the Block - Elevate Ellsworth is this weekend!

Posted

Rock the Block - Elevate Ellsworth is a volunteer-driven, community-based initiative designed to help a neighborhood with exterior home maintenance, lawn care and exterior home repairs. From Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, in partnership with the Village of Ellsworth, Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce and Ellsworth High School, we'll be getting folks together to work on eight homes located in Ellsworth.

We are in need of volunteers, especially on Saturday. As always, no construction, repair, or landscaping experience is needed whatsoever - if you've never held a hammer or used a shovel before, we'll teach you! And if you do have experience, that's awesome - let us know what kind of projects you've worked on in the past and we'll put your knowledge and skills to use! Community Celebration & Picnic

Join St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity for a community picnic from 4-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 in Summit Park (100 W. Grove St.) in Ellsworth. The picnic is free to the public and will feature:

  • Free food and drink, including deep fried cheese curds from the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery
  • Free bounce house and face painting
  • Music from local musical celebrity Christina Kowalchyk
  • Ribbon cutting ceremony to “kick off” SCV Habitat for Humanity’s newest project in Ellsworth
  • A wrap up of the first annual Rock the Block - Elevate Ellsworth community service project

So plan on bringing your chairs to Summit Park this Saturday for a great opportunity to get together with family, friends and neighbors for some great music and food to celebrate Ellsworth!
