Sheila Marie Kittleson, 68, long time resident of Red Wing, Minn., formerly of Prescott, Wis., passed away peacefully at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minn. on June 6, 2024, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Sheila was born August 21, 1955, in Prescott as the third child of Bernard (Sam) and Dorothy Kittleson. She was raised in Prescott and graduated from Prescott Sr. High School with the class of 1973.

Our sister was strong-willed and overcame many hurdles as an independent and self-sufficient lady. Though Sheila lived with epilepsy from birth, and won her battle with breast cancer in 2012, she kept her sense of humor and an infectious laugh going as she maintained her role as an administrative professional at Xcel Energy – Prairie Island Nuclear Plant in Red Wing, Minn.

Sheila was an avid reader, a dedicated Packer fan-stopping at Lambeau Field as she and sister Julie took their trips to Door County in the fall. She loved her family and shared some really special bonds with her nieces and nephews.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, nephews, Jesse Murphy and Mitchel Radant, and niece Nicole Kittleson. She will be remembered as our strong, feisty, and dearly loved sister by her six siblings, Jeff (Joanne) Kittleson, Fredric, Wis., Sheri Kunash, Cocoa, Fla., Julie (Alan) Ellefson, Danbury, Wis., Kris Kittleson, Phoenix, Ariz., Renee Kittleson, Stanley, Wis., and Joan Kittleson, Lake St. Croix Beach, Minn., and stepmother and friend Barbara Kittleson.

A private, family and close friends only, Christian burial, will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 14 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Prescott. A Celebration of Life is being planned for this summer. Please see our website for future updates on the celebration of life please. Memorial and cremation services are entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Prescott, www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com, 715-262-5404.
