Valerie K. Payne of Eureka Springs, Ark. was born in Red Wing, Minn. on March 23, 1951, to Roy and Shirley (Hovde) Strand. Valerie passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Fayetteville, Ark. at the age of 73.
Valerie is survived by her three sons Donovan Meyer of Eureka Springs, Ark., Derrick Meyer of Arvada, Colo., and Alexander Payne (Jessica Grimes) of Eureka Springs, Ark. and two grandchildren Davis Meyer and Avery Meyer. Two sisters Norrine Howard (Dick) of Stillwater, Minn. and Karen Nelson (Boyd) of Prescott, Wis. Several nieces, nephews, a host of other family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Donald James Payne and her parents Roy and Shirley Strand.
Valerie enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her dog Cici dearly.
